ADHD is the most common childhood psychiatric disorder, affecting behavior and daily functioning in 3 to 5 percent of school-aged children in the United States. Symptoms may include:
- Acting quickly without thinking and interrupting others (impulsivity),
- Fidgety, difficulty sitting still or/and staying on-task (hyperactivity),
- Daydreaming and being sidetracked (inattention)
ADHD is diagnosed as the hyperactive impulsive type, inattentive type, or the combined type
