Depression

Children often experience/display depression different from adults. A child with depression may pretend to be sick, refuse to go to school, worry, be irritable, sad, or angry. If these behaviors are persistent and interfere with normal daily living, social activities, or schoolwork, they may indicate that he or she has a depressive illness. Keep in mind that symptoms of depression in children vary.
